ABOUT GREYCARD
On looking without haste, presence and the power of the unguarded moment.
“I am not looking for the perfect pose, but for the moment when awareness of the camera fades and only presence remains.”
STILLNESS AND ATTENTION
A good portrait does not emerge from direction or force. It asks for time, calm and the space to let someone — human or animal — be who they are.
THE BOND BETWEEN HUMAN AND ANIMAL
Dogs do not pretend. Their gaze is pure, unguarded and direct. When a person and a dog stand together before the camera, an unperformed dynamic emerges, finding its fullest essence in black and white.
THE TANGIBLE OBJECT
A digital file is fleeting. Only when a portrait is printed on fine-art paper and framed with a bespoke mount does it acquire the enduring quality it deserves.
THE ATELIER
Greycard is based in Rhode-Saint-Genèse, near Brussels. A quiet, secluded studio where encounters unfold in complete serenity, by appointment only.
